LM Studio
LM Studio 0.3.17 introduces MCP support, allowing users to connect MCP servers to the app and use them with local models. The implementation supports both local and remote MCP servers, which can be added by editing the app's mcp.json file or via a new "Add to LM Studio" button, and includes tool call confirmation dialogs that let users review and approve tool executions before they run. LM Studio follows Cursor's mcp.json notation and automatically spawns separate processes for each MCP server, making it valuable for users who want to extend their local AI models with external tools and resources while maintaining control over tool execution.
